Bangabandhu Memorial was the residence of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Now it is the museum . Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is the father of Bangladesh. It is at Dhanmondi. Here you can see his life picture & many. It remains open 10 am to 5 pm. Its weekly holiday is Wednesday.

Varendra Research Museum is situated in Rajshahi. It has been established in 1910. It has a rich collection of interesting objects of Hindus, Buddhus & Muslin heritage. It is located to the heart of Rajshahi and maintained by Rajshahi University authority. Admission in Varendra Research Museum is totally free.


Dhaka National Museum was established in 1913 . Then, it has been renamed as National Museum in1983 and also it was shifted to its new building at Shahbag. It ia four storied building and has forty galleries under four departments.The Dhaka National Museum has a huge collection of old coins, books, metal images, muslin fabric & many.

Dhaka National museum has annually 6,24,776 visitors.

Potenga Sea Beach

The Potenga sea beach is one of the popular sea beach of Bangladesh. It is located 14 kilometers south of the sea port of Bangladesh. Here, you will get the opportunity to see sunrise & sunset at the same time.



Kuakata in the district of Potuakhali only a few miles away from Khepupara, is the longest sea beach in the world. The beauty of Kuakata attracts millions of tourists every year. The Kuakata beach is 10 kilometers in length and 2 kilometers in breadth. This is the only sea-beach from where you can enjoy the charming sight both of sunrise & sunset. Winter is the best time to visit Kuakata. The beauty of Kuakata can't be described but can be enjoyed. If you wish to visit Kuakata, first go to Khepupara & then start journey to Kuakata either by bus or by lunch.


Parki beach is situated in Anwara thana under southern Chittagong region. It is beautiful one. But it is not the tourist place of Bangladesh yet. At the earliest possible time, you will see Parki beach as a tourist spot of Bangladesh. It lies 17-18 kilometers away from the Chittagong town. Here, the Parki beach is situated at the Karnafuli river. So, if you wish to pay a visit to Karnafuli river, you will have the opportunity to visit beautiful Parki beach too.

Sonakanda Fort

Sonakanda fort is mainly a mughal fort. It is located on the eastern bank of the shitalakshya at Bandar, almost hejiganj fort in the Narayanganj district. The platform has two circles of which the inner is 15.70m and the outer is 19.35 in diameter respectively. It is quadrangular in plan, measuring 86.56m, 57.00m and surrounded by 1.06 brick-thick wall. It is 3.05 in height. It is similar with the other mughal forts. It has created in the mid-17th century. The Sonakanda fort is now under the protection of the Department of Archaeology and Museums.



Jack fruit is the national fruit of Bangladesh. It is popular for its beautiful taste & color. It is known scientifically as Artocarpus Heterophyllus. It is species tree of the mulberry family( Moracae). Mainly, it grows in the South Asia. The fruits can reach 36 K.G. in weight and can upto 90 cm in long and 50 cm in diameter. Jack fruit is full of many vitamins. The jack fruit is native to Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka & Nepal. The jack fruit bears fruit 3 years after planting. It plays an important role in Bangladesh & India. It is also grown in Hawaii, Brazil, Suriname, Madagascar, Jamaica, Trinidad etc.




Baitul Mukarram is the national mosque of Bangladesh. It is situated in the capital of Bangladesh, "Dhaka". Its construction began on 1960. The plan included shops, offices, libraries, parking ares within the entire complex. The mehrab of the hall is rectangular instead of semi-circular. The area of the mail prayer hall is 2464 square meters with a mezzanine floor at the eastern side. It has found the place in the heart of Muslims because of the resemblance of its form to the Holy Kaaba at Makkah.

Hilsa fish is the national fish of Bangladesh. But it is also popular in West Bengal, India's Assamese, Bengali & Oriya- speaking regions & in Pakistan Sindh. It is economically known as important tropical fish. The Hilsa fish from Padma river considered to be the best in taste. The fishes of Padma has also an international demand. Though. Hilsa is caught from the sea. But the Hilsa of the river is considered for lovely taste than the Hilsa of the sea. It is said that Hilsa can be cooked in 50 ways.



Royal Bengal Tiger is the national animal of Bangladesh. Mainly, it lives in the Mangrove forest: Sundarban.

Sexual maturity: Male tiger gets maturity at the age of 4-5 years and female tigr gets maturity at the age of 3-4 years.

Habitat : Tigers mainly live in jungles, marsh lands of Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Bhutan & Barma.

Diet: Deer,Pigs, antelopes & buffalo are mainly hunted by tigers.



The water lily is the national flower of Bangladesh. It is called in Bengali language "Shapla". It can be seen mainly in the rivers, canals, lakes but it can be seen in the ponds sometime. Water lily includes about 70 species. It can be different colour and different sizes. It is loved by all for its wonderful beauty.




The Magpie Robin is the national bird of Bangladesh. Scientifically, it is called Copsychus Saularis. It is also known as Oriental Magpie Robin, Straits Robin & Magpie. Generally, it makes nest in the tropical southern Asia from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and east to China and Indonesia. It is found in woodland and around man habitation. It makes nest in a hole or in a wall and lays 3-6 eggs which are incubated by both sexes. It is called in Bangladesh " DOEL".

I have described here the beauty and history of Bangladesh. Bangladesh has many historical places like Sonakanda Fort, Kuthibari,Qilla mosque at Lalbag fort, Ahsan manjil and so on. It has also many beautiful places like Sundarbans, Cox's Bazar etc. It is quite impossible for us to visit these places. I have described about these places. You have to do nothing but to see and learn about our historical and beautiful places.

Game birds are killed for their tasty flesh. The pigeon, the dove, the snipe, the heron, the patridge, ducks, cranes and the teal are the game birds. The dove and the pigeon may be called song birds as they are noted for their ‘coos’.

The testing birds are the birds that tease us too often. The crow and the kite belong to this class. The crow is more nasty than the kite. They steal away whatever they can peak at. They live on dead animals and all sorts of rotten and dirty things.

Lalbag Fort

The son of Mughal emperor Aurangozeb, prince Mohammad Azam built Lalbag Fort in 1678. In 1857, 250 soldiers stationed here. They revolted against British forces. The Lalbag Fort was the scence of the bloody battle. Though it has a main structure, it has also a number of other buildings and monuments. They are Pari Bibi, Lalbagh Mosque and Hammam Khana of Nawab Shaista Khan.

Cox’s Bazar is the longest sea beach in the world. It is the most attractive tourist spot in the world too. It is seventy five miles long ( 120 kilo miters sandy sea beach with a gentle slop). Cox’s Bazar sea beach is shark free and good for bathing and swimming. Thousands of tourist from not only Bangladesh but also from all over all the world come here to spend his leisure time. The communication system to Cox’s Bazar is good. Anyone can go there both by air or road from Dhaka to Chittagong.It’s a small town. The climate of this beach is very fine. In the winter, it’s climate becomes healthy and charming more. The Bay of Bengal lies on the south of it. There are different kinds of fish in the sea beach. There are high standard arrangements for the tourist.

Ahsan Manjil

Ahsan Manjil was built in 1872. It stands on the river of Buriganga. The visitors can feel the life style of the Nawabs of Dhaka by this building. Sometimes it is called Pink Palace. But it is now known as a splendid museum.Basically, it was used as a residence of the Nawabs. In 1872 it was renovated by Nawab Abdul Gani. It was named by his son Khaza Ahasanullah. At the bank of the river, now it is turned into a museum. It is an epitome of Bangladesh’s cultural heritage.It has 31 rooms. It has a huge dome about a mile. These rooms are now using as museum. It has 23 galleries. It displays furniture, clothes and many other things of Nawabs.




The plundering birds are notorious for plundering habits. The hawk is the most prominent. It has keen eyes, sharp nails and a sweeping nature. The kite and the crow may also be included in the group. The other plundering birds are the king-fisher and the sea-gull.


Common Birds

There are also some very common birds which we always see around us. They are the tuntuni, the bulbul, the swallow or the sparrow. They are tiny birds. They show great skill in weaving their nests. They are also called the weaving birds. There are some other birds like the vulture and the owl. The vulture feed on dead animals and rotten things. The owl is active at night. It has a grave look like a ‘bogus-boo’ but it does not harm anybody. It lives on mice. Another bird known as wood-pecker is a wild bird.
